Finding bravery in vulnerability…

Please watch this video – it is a video that I re-shared on Facebook.

I ask that anyone who watches this video to please be understanding to the sensitivity of the matter. This young woman is being so brave, allowing herself to be this vulnerable… in the hope of helping others understand the disease of addiction, in the hope of letting people know that they are not alone, and in the hope of changing how addiction is viewed.
This young woman was asked to leave several sober homes because she didn’t fit in for one reason or another. Somehow she was led to us, and she has found home. She is doing great, and she has made her way into my heart.

She was twenty years old in this video. She is twenty one years old now. She made this video two days before she left for treatment.

Nothing is more humbling than to be trusted and loved by so many beautiful women.

This is addiction. Addiction is not a choice…
