A message from Tim Weber…
We are returning from a much-needed vacation.
I haven’t had a chance to reflect on the weekend before our vacation at Camp Thrive. This weekend, we get to interact with children impacted by addiction-related trauma. Some of these kids have lost a parent to addiction! Some of the parents are incarcerated, and some are in active recovery.
This camp allows all these kids to see they are not alone and that it’s OK to talk about what’s going on in their lives. Each year it starts with a little bit of hesitation from the kids. By the end, there is laughter, tears, and a bond that will never be broken.
I’m not sure what the future holds for me. One thing I know without question. I will be at this camp every year because it has the biggest impact on me of all the things I am blessed to do.
This year we lost funding, and with a few phone calls, we raised the money to have this camp and even started the fund for next year’s camp. We thank all of you who pitched in from the Camp Thrive team!
