Annual Robert D. Kirkland Memorial Golf Classic

Thank you to everyone who came out to our annual Robert D. Kirkland Memorial Golf Classic. When I started Rising Above Addiction, it was important for me to host events, in our community, that would be about inclusiveness, acceptance and honoring people that we have lost to the disease of addiction. I wanted to bring people together that may not otherwise have the chance to meet. Stigma tends to disappear when we come together.

Yesterday, I stood beside Judge Hecker and a beautiful woman who lives at Rob’s house and who is also in Carroll County Adult Drug Treatment Court. We each shared our own stories that led us to standing together yesterday.

It was a great day to play golf and hang out with wonderful people.

Thank you, Danielle, for the beautiful cakes! They were delicious!

Our first hole in one happened yesterday!

First hole in one! In cart number 17 and ON hole number 17. Yes, Will went to college to play golf. Yes, Will is a great golfer, however, I think Rob had something to do with Leah’s boyfriend getting that hole in one. Congrats to Will!

See everyone next year!
