Last night the State’s Attorney for Carroll County hosted the 3rd Annual Drug & Overdose Prevention Vigil. This year Keith Mills of WBAL-TV & 98 Rock returned to participate and tell of his story of addiction. The Keynote Speaker was Darryl Strawberry, who spoke this year to talk about his struggles with addiction, and how he has managed to find peace in long term recovery. During Mr. Strawberry’s Major League Baseball career, he received 4 World Series Titles: New York Mets 1986; New York Yankees 1996, 1998, & 1999. He was an 8 times National League All-Star from 1984 through 1991, as well as, Topps All Star Rookie of the Year in 1983.Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the vigil will begin at 7:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
